A lot has been said about the possible houses of the future. Architects, engineers, designers and other creators have offered hundreds of proposals, some more realistic than others. It's curious to see that nearly all of them are environmentally conscious and point towards sustainability and that the bolder and more interesting ones have the ocean as a basis. Four million dollars is the estimated price of this floating house, whose shape is based on a pre-historic trilobite. However, there is nothing pre-historic about it, as it's equiped with some of the most modern technological solutions, especially when it comes to energy production autonomy, assured by eco-friendly systems - fuel, solar and eolian cells. Some of the technology applied in this project was developed in a cooperation with the European Space Agency.

The Trilobis 65 was created by Giancarlo Zema Design Group, in 2001 and isn't the creator's only or most interesting project, who has a vast and imaginative curriculum in this area. At its core, the concept is fairly simple: an oval shape with 20 metres in length divided into four levels connected by a central, spiral staircase. The lowest level is a large glass bubble that allows underwater observation while the upper levels have the sleeping, meals, social and control areas.
A very interesting aspect of this yacht/ house is the possibility of it grouping with other yachts of the same typa, creating small "floating colonies" or communities. in order to make that possible, the stern has a circular shape that allows it to fit in a circular pontoon. Without a doubt, the concept of the future.
